Patient Instructions
Things to do on your appointment day.
On the day of your abortion appointment:
1. You may eat a light meal--no fast food--two hours before your appointment. Once you get here we do not want you to eat.
2. Please shower or bathe in the morning of your appointment.
3. Bring two Maxi-pad type sanitary napkins.
4. You can bring someone to drive you home, but please do not bring children. If you want sedation, you must have a ride home.
5. Payment is expected at the time of the appointment. We accept most insurance and NYS Medicaid upon pre-verification, cash, money orders, and credit cards. Sorry, no checks. You must call us to verify any insurance or Medicaid before your appointment.
6. Please let us know about any serious medical problems, such as seizure disorders, diabetes, bleeding/clotting problems, heart problems, high blood pressure, or recent infections.
7. Everything is done in one visit. Plan to be here 3-4 hours.
8. Please be prompt. If you cannot make your appointment, please call us as soon as you can.
9. Get good travel directions. Download travel directions from this site. Our directions are clearer when you get off the highway.
10. Bring something to do during the wait times-- we have wifi internet access and a DVD player we can loan you, and of course, lots of magazines.
